Visit from Students at Oriental Logistics Centre on 17/January/2014 ( 24 Jan 2014 )

Students of Y-MBA from Ramkhamhaeng University located in Bangkok,Thailand have visited Oriental Logistics Centre in Hong Kong on January 17, 2014.

The three-hour visit is a technical on-site visit for this group of students and our team of colleagues have introduced the Company scope of services to them, with the Corporate Presentation followed by some Case Studies and at the end of the presentation the students have answered a matching test with an extensive list of questions.

Some world-class projects with Pick-to-Light features for a Major Cosmetics Company as well as some Regional Distribution Centre operations have been a magnet for the attention of the students. The colleagues have also completed a warehouse visit with the students to introduce the actual operations.

Our Company has once again demonstrated that it is a major player in quality third-party logistics and that it is focused on quality and reliability with an excellent track record in Service Quality.

This year starts on a good note and we always strive for improvements and challenges to keep the pace of quality.

泰國曼谷Ramkhamhaeng大學的MBA學生於2014年1月17日到訪東方物流中心進行一次三小時的技術性訪問，我們的同事透過企業簡介和一些案例研究項目給學生介紹了公司的服務範圍，並在活動尾段時間，學生親身體驗了一個配對測驗。

我們同事帶領學生於參觀倉庫實際操作時，其中一個大型化妝品項目的電子標籤撿貨系統，以及一些區域配送中心的操作已經吸引著學生的注意力。

The Managing Director Of Oriental Logistics, Mr. Gilbert Lau, Was Invited By Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IE) of The University of Hong Kong to Deliver A Speech On “4PL Management” ( 23 Jan 2014 )

The Managing Director of Oriental Logistics, Mr. Gilbert Lau Wai-kwong, was invited by Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IE) of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) to deliver a speech on January 2, 2014.

Mr. Lau presented a case study with an article on “4PL Management”, sharing his views on how to be professional. The case is one of our 4PL Projects, large numbers of multi country consolidation orders are sent via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) into our tailor-made Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP). And each order requires many items for different destinations. So, we setup a smooth linkage and data exchange between SAP and our ERP to improve the effectiveness of our 3PL’s operations.

Mr. Lau is pleased to be invited and wishes his sharing would help the participants to understand more about 4PL management.

東方物流董事總經理Gilbert Lau獲香港大學工業及製造系統工程系邀請，於二零一四年一月二日出席一個論壇。劉先生就「第四方物流管理」這題目發表演講，與聽眾分享如何能專業。

劉先生無論於物流供應鏈管理、倉庫運作，或海空貨運都有十分豐富的經驗，大會就邀請劉先生，就如何專業地管理第四方物流(4PL)，作出分享。內容提及東方物流有一個4PL項目，大量多式聯運的貨運訂單會透過電子數據（EDI）發送到東方物流為客戶度身訂做的企業資源規劃系統（ERP）。而每份訂單均會由多種貨品組成, 並需快速地送到多個不同目的地。因此，東方物流將SAP系統與東方物流的ERP直接聯繫起來，並能直接將數據交換使用，藉以提昇第三方物流的操作效率。

劉先生亦表示非常樂意與聽眾分享意見，並希望他的分享有助聽眾明白4PL的管理。

Dr. Paul Gandel and Syracuse University Group Visit Oriental Logistics (03 Jun 2013)

Dr. Paul Gandel, Kathryn Allen and a group of Information Studies students from the Syracuse University visited the Oriental Logistics Centre on June 3rd, 2013. The aim of their visit was to learn about Oriental Logistics’ advanced supply chain management and self-developed I.T. systems support operation. The students listened intently to the presenter's explanation of the company and its services, and following a Q&A session, they were all shown the various warehousing floors and repacking workshop. Students commented that the visit was enjoyable and informative, and that the experience had given them an insight into the practical elements of the industry to compliment the theory they learn in the classroom.

Paul Gandel博士聯同Kathryn Allen率領美國錫拉丘茲大學的資訊科技課程畢業生於二零一三年六月三日參觀東方物流中心。這次參觀東方物流的目的是認識高級供應鏈管理及自行開發的電腦系統營運操作。同學們專注聆聽講者的介紹，以及在問答部份諮詢了解東方物流的營運操作和服務內容，及後前往參觀倉儲地方及包裝工場等地。同學表示參與是次活動覺得非常愉快和獲得豐富的資訊訊息，此舉正好讓他們在實際經驗中去引證書本的理論知識，從而得到啟視。

The Managing Director of Oriental Logistics, Mr. Gilbert Lau Wai-kwong has been awarded Chinese Outstanding Innovative Entrepreneurs ( 02 Jun 2013 )

The Managing Director of Oriental Logistics, Mr. Gilbert Lau Wai-kwong established Oriental Logistics Holdings Co, Ltd. in 1996. The good entry strategy and high quality customer service paved the way for the success of Lau's Company. Oriental Logistics was the pioneer in third-party logistics in Hong Kong. Most of its customers are either US Fortune 500 companies or sizable international corporations.

On 2nd June, 2013, Mr. Lau has been awarded the ”China's Most Innovative Enterprise” by the Chinese Association of Productivity Science (CAPS), subordinate to the National Bureau of Statistics of China. Their chairman – Wang Maolin is the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People's Congress and Vice-Chairman of Law Committee of the NPC. Moreover, other winner include: the President of Sinochem Group Mr. LIU Deshu; the Chairman of China National Building Material Group Corporation(CNBM) and China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (Sinopharm) Mr. Song Zhiping; the Chairman of CSR Corporation Limited （CSR) Mr. Zheng Changhong; and the chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Mr. Li Shufu, etc., It is also the recognition of his innovation & execution in his industry.

在1996年，東方物流董事總經理劉偉光先生察覺到第三方物流服務的市場潛力，毅然辭退高薪厚職自行創業，成立本港首間港資的第三方物流服務公司。雖然創業初期比較艱辛，但憑著明確的發展策略以及優質的客戶服務，公司很快便獲得多間誇國企業的青睞，而公司卓越的成績更受到社會各界的認同。

The Managing Director of Oriental Logistics, Mr. Gilbert Lau Wai-kwong, was invited to give a presentation on the Seminar held by The University of Hong Kong (HKU). Mr. Lau presented a case study on “How to Improve B2C Project’s operations with Pick-To-Light System”, sharing his views on how to utilize technology to help the logistics industry stay competitive. The case is one of our B2C Project, large numbers of daily replenishment orders are sent via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) into our tailor-made Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP). And each order requires many items for different destinations. So, we setup a smooth linkage and data exchange between our Pick-To-Light System and our ERP to improve the effectiveness of our warehousing operations, as well as a better time and resource management. The key to staying competitive is to have good and effective communications and cooperation with customers. The invitation of HKU further proves and confirms Oriental Logistics effective communications with its customers over the years. Deputy General Manager Of Oriental Logistics, Mr. Danny Sung, Delivered A Talk To The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (02 Jan 2013)

Mr. Danny Sung, Deputy General Manager of Oriental Logistics, delivered a talk to the students of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University( PolyU) in a seminar. The seminar titled with A Special Invitation to “In their Shoes” Banquet Forum, is a series of roundtable discussions over dinner with special invited guests to give students a peek into the daily lives of experienced professionals from different backgrounds and industries. Mr. Sung shared with the students with his industrial experiences as well as university life in UK, illustrating with informative and inspiring examples. The presentation was created a great interest to the students specially to those who are major in logistics. Representative of the PolyU gave her appreciation to Mr. Sung – “Thank you for your valuable hints and advices, for your heart and passion in your sharings. Students feedback proved they were very happy to have someone speaking to them in Cantonese and also closely related to their field of studies” Mr. Sung is honored to be one of the speakers . 15th Year Anniversary Dinner (25 Jul 2012)

Current Releases 15th Year Anniversary Dinner 25 Jul 2012 The 15th Year Anniversary dinner was held on 29th June 2012. All Oriental Logistics staffs were invited who then left with a happy smile and a full stomach! During the dinner, colleagues had a lot of fun and the mood was running especially high when playing games. The whole room was filled with bursts of applause. Also, the 15th Year Anniversary crystal containers were given to the guests. It was a great night and it was ended with some group shots. 十五週年慶典晚宴 (2012年7月25日)

十五週年慶典晚宴於二零一二年六月二十九日舉行。所有東方物流員工都被誠邀出席。最後他們都掛上笑臉，捧著肚子離開！

在十五週年慶典晚宴中，東方物流的員工都玩得非常盡興。尤其是玩遊戲時，整個房間都充滿著笑聲與歡呼聲。

另外，當晚每一位嘉賓均可得到十五週年水晶筆筒。最後，所有東方物流員工濟濟一堂，來幾張合照，就完結了這精彩的一夜。
